The Affair Ain't Worth It

A Declaration Over My Life and My Marriage

Read this aloud. Say it in your own voice, not as a formality, but as a decision.

  1. I declare that temptation does not get to define me, no matter how good it once looked or how empty I once felt when it arrived.
  2. I declare that my desires are not my master, and that the wound the enemy has been aiming for is a wound God is already healing.
  3. I declare that if I have fallen, I am not disqualified. My failure does not cancel my calling. I am redeemed, not discarded.
  4. I declare that repentance is not a moment I perform once, but a lifestyle I am choosing to walk in, one honest day at a time.
  5. I declare that if I have been betrayed, my healing does not depend on an apology I may never receive. God sees me in this wilderness, and He has never once left me in it alone.
  6. I declare that forgiveness is not the same as trust, and trust is not the same as staying, and I have the right to heal on a timeline that belongs to me.
  7. I declare that I will guard my eyes, my ears, my time, my conversations, and my vulnerabilities, because I protect what I value, and my marriage and my future are worth protecting.
  8. I declare that I will run from what I cannot stand near, the way Joseph ran, and that running is not weakness. It is wisdom.
  9. I declare that my worst chapter does not get the final word over my life. God specializes in redeeming what sin tried to destroy, and my testimony will become someone else's survival guide.
  10. I declare that my home is covered, my marriage is worth fighting for, and my future is too valuable to trade for a temporary thrill.

This is my declaration. I am not waiting for permission to mean it.

The Affair Ain't Worth It

A Declaration Over Our Marriage

Read this together, out loud, to each other.

  1. We declare that our marriage is a covenant, not a contract, and that we choose each other again today, not just on the day we said our vows.
  2. We declare that whatever has broken between us can be rebuilt, not by pretending it didn't happen, but by walking through what it actually cost, together and honestly.
  3. We declare that transparency will replace secrecy, that accountability will replace hiding, and that consistency, not promises alone, will rebuild whatever trust was lost.
  4. We declare that healing will not be rushed by the one who caused the wound, and will not be withheld forever by the one who carries it. We will meet each other in the middle of that tension, with patience, again and again, for as long as it takes.
  5. We declare that we will guard our gates together, our eyes, our time, our conversations, and our vulnerabilities, because we protect what we value, and we value this marriage.
  6. We declare that we will pray together, seek counsel together, and stay rooted in community together, because a covenant was never meant to survive on our willpower alone.
  7. We declare that our story, whatever chapter we are in right now, is not finished, and that God can still make something stronger out of what tried to break us.

This is our declaration, spoken over our home, our future, and each other.
